Why Buy Travel Insurance? Because you Never Know.
Seriously, if we knew something awful was going to happen, they we would just stay home and avoid it, right? But we don’t and so this is why you need to purchase travel insurance.
Think of it this way – you need to protect your investment (your hard earned money) that you’ve put into your trip. Unexpected things happen you could lose the entire cost of your trip if you’re not insured.
I won’t get into all of the details with each type of travel insurance but I was a Licensed Travel Insurance Agent for 14 years and I’ve seen many clients lose lots of money simply because they chose not to buy that $45 insurance policy. I recommend purchasing any travel insurance through your travel agent vs. buying from an insurance agency as the travel agent knows exactly what coverage you require and why.
Listen to this: a family of four saved for years to go on a vacation to Disneyland - the man had a heart attack before they departed and the family was forced to cancel their trip and lost over $6,000.
Another man had a heart attack in an out of country casino; he lived but it cost him over $115,000 for the few days he spent in the hospital.
