A year ago on July 7, 2007, more than 100 million votes worldwide were counted to announce the New 7 Wonders of the World.

I grew up knowing about the old 7 wonders of the ancient world, assuming I could fly there on a magic carpet of some sorts.  But truly I only knew 1 of them – the Great Pyramids of Egypt.  In case you didn’t know either, here they are:

• Great Pyramids of Egypt
• Hanging Gardens of Babylon
• Statue of Zeus, Greece
• Temple of Artemis, Greece
• Mausoleum of Mausollos, Turkey
• Colossus of Rhodes, Greece
• Lighthouse of Alexandria, Egypt

And now, introducing the New 7 Wonders:

1. The Great Wall of China
2. Petra, Jordan
3. Chichen Itza, Mexico
4. Christ the Redeemer, Brazil
5. The Colosseum, Rome
6. Machu Picchu, Peru
7. Taj Mahal, India

And the worst part?  I have been to NONE.  How about you?
