Orphan Grizzly Cubs Set Free in BC - See the Photos!

Published by conniemotz at 5:55 am under Canada, Family, General, Travel News Edit This

Today marked the world’s first release of two orphaned grizzly cubs, Suzie and Johnny, back into the wilderness of British Columbia (BC).

The five year pilot project is a partnership between the BC Ministry of Environment and the Northern Lights Wildlife Society (NLWS) rehabilitation centre near Smithers, BC.  Never before has such a rescue been attempted; normally abandoned grizzly cubs are destroyed.

The project will hopefully prove the sustainability of rehabilitating grizzly cubs throughout the province of BC and hopefully to the world.  You can make a donation to NLWS here.
