For 37 passengers onboard a Greyhound bus in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, this past Wednesday night turned into a scene straight out of a horror movie.  If you’re at all squeamish, then don’t read on.

Tim McLean was a 22 year-old on his way home to Winnipeg.  He was listening to music and sleeping in his seat when he was viscously and unexplainably attacked by a fellow passenger, later to be identified as Vince Weiguang Li, aged 40 from Edmonton, Alberta.

But Tim wasn’t just attacked, he was brutally murdered as Li robotically stabbed him with a knife an estimated 50-60 times.  Passengers fled from the bus while Li continued to follow with horrific acts included beheading his victim.  Early reports state that he also tried to gut his victim.

Li continued down the aisle carrying the head as he tried to escape from the Greyhound bus.  Passengers held the bus doors closed while Li tried to slash his way out.  A trucker that was passing by stopped and handed out make-shift weapons including crow bars and tire irons to help heed the efforts.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) arrived on scene and arrested Li who was charged today with second degree murder.  The RCMP do not believe that this was a pre-meditated act; the penalty for second degree murder in Canada is a life sentence with no possibility of parole for at least ten years.

McLean was said to be a kind and thoughtful person; friends of McLean have started a Facebook page entitled “R.I.P. Tim McLean” in response to this tragic event.   May he truly rest in peace.

PAROLE AFTER TEN YEARS, you HAVE to be KIDDING?? With all the eye witnesses, he just BEHEADS an innocent kid? GIVE ME A BREAK!

Wake up Canada!! This man, whether premeditated or not, should get the DEATH PENALTY! Who would you like it if it was YOUR child that was beheaded? I say in order to stop these types of murders you have to show that people can’t get away with barbaric acts like this one!

He should be punished in the same way that he TORTURED that poor young man! And it shouldn’t matter whether he is found by the court/law to be “sane” or “insane”.

Unfortunately, mental health is not the only human flaw out there. Idiocy, as evidenced in the first comment, and complete and utter ignorance, as shown by the last comment (dott’s), are also very much the scourge of humanity. On the upside, with a little effort, these two can be cured.
