Today, Sunday, October 12, 2008, the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia, is proud to unveil the last installment of the Musee du Louvre collection entitled “The Louvre and the Masterpiece.” 

The exhibit, in some form, has run for the previous two years and started with a high school exchange program which evolved into three exhibits running yearlong since October 2006. Drawing almost 800,000 visitors in the first two years, this exhibit features 91 works of art consisting of works from the Musee du Louvre’s eight collection areas which span over 4,000 years.

A new feature of this exhibit is an interactive touch screen that allows visitors to vote for a favorite piece of art complied from the entire three year exhibition period.

The exhibit runs until September 6, 2009.  Admission is $18 per adult, $15 per student or senior and $11 for children ages 6 to 17 while children 5 and under are free.

The High Museum of Art in Atlanta is open 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.  The museum is closed on Monday and all major holidays.
