Mexico Travel Warning Issued for Canadians & Americans
On Friday, the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs issued a Travel Advisory for Mexico warning that visitors to the country should “exercise a high degree of caution.”
Canadians have been warned to stay away from any protests or unrest in larger Mexican cities and especially to avoid the recent “incidents, roadblocks and clashes” in Oaxaca.
The United States issued a similar advisory warning U.S. citizens to avoid areas in Mexico that are close to the U.S. border such as Nogales, Tijuana, and Ciudad Juarez. The U.S. also recommended that all of their diplomatic staff avoid all “non-essential travel” to certain cities within Mexico.
