Best Days of the Week for Air Travel
Did you know that there are 3 days of the week when flights are generally cheaper? It’s because passenger demand is low which in turn produces the need for the airlines to fill their seats.
And the days? Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays, with Wednesday being the hands down winner when it comes to the least expensive pricing.
The Aviation Consumer Protection Division of the Department of Transportation (DOT) recommends that once you have obtained a price for your chosen flights, simply “ask the reservations agent if you could save even more by flying a day earlier or later, or by taking a different flight on the same day.”
The easiest way to qualify for the lowest airfare is to be flexible with your travel plans.
