Hotwire.com is a discount travel website that offers affordable rates at premium hotels plus bookings can also be made for flights, cars, packages, and cruises.
Hotwire.com is dedicated to serving price-conscious travelers and has been recognized for 3 years in a row by the J.D. Power and Associates Independent Travel Web Site Satisfaction Study for having the “highest in customer satisfaction for independent travel websites.”
A sample hotel deal is an unnamed 4-star hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, located near the Strip for $39, per room, per night, which is a 60% savings; the name of the hotel will only be disclosed once a non-refundable payment has been made.
What I like about Hotwire.com: they’ve got some great prices to popular destinations and the 3 year customer satisfaction recognition is comforting.
What I don’t like about Hotwire.com: having to pay without knowing exactly what you’re paying for.Hotwire.com is an operating company of Expedia, Inc.
What’s your opinion of Hotwire.com?

This is such a cool idea especially in a large city. Let’s say you don’t have a car because insurance and monthly parking is just too expensive. What can you do? Share a car, that’s what.
Here’s how it works. You register and pay an annual fee to join. Whenever you require a car to run errands or whatever, you simply go online, make your reservation and pick up your car at the pre-designated spot.
Your membership card uses a smart chip to open the car doors and you’re on your way. When you’re done with the car, simply return it to the designated spot. The cost, including insurance and fuel, is estimated at around $15-20 per hour, not including taxes.
If you work for a large corporation, there may be a fleet of vehicles available for your use at a moment’s notice. If you don’t have this option where you work, maybe you should be the one to look into it. Why not? It’s a win-win for you and for the environment. For more information, check out Zipcar.
Take care,
Connie
